Movie Review: The Amazing Spider-Man

20 June 2012, Singapore – Fans of the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire may be disappointed that Columbia and Sony Pictures decided to cancel the production of Spider-Man 4, to reboot the series to the very beginning with “The Amazing Spider-Man”. But fear not fans, the Amazing Spider-Man will not let you down.

In “The Amazing Spider-Man” you will not find Mary Jane Watson, instead, Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) will fall in love with his fellow college mate, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), who rightfully is Peter Parker’s first love in the Spider-Man comic series back in the 60’s. With a whole new cast and a more emotional story build up, the Emmy winning actress/actor Sally Field and Hollywood veteran Martin Sheen will be the Aunt May and Uncle Ben that Spidey fans will never forget. To get the full experience of Spider-Man swiftly swinging across the city, free falling from buildings and agile combat sequence, it’s best to catch “The Amazing Spider-Man” in IMAX 3D.

Following the success of “The Avengers”, “The Amazing Spider-Man” is another blockbuster hit by Marvel not to be missed in the theater this year. I give this movie 4 out of 5, because I watched it in IMAX 3D 🙂

Directed by Marc Webb, starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Sally Field and Martin Sheen.

The Amazing Spider-Man hits movie theatres in Singapore next week.
