HSBC Youth Golfers Clinic at the HSBC Women’s Champions

23 February 2011, Singapore – The HSBC Youth Golfers got to learn a few tips from LPGA pro golfers Jessica Korda and Nicole Castrale who took time off from the preparations for the HSBC Women’s Champions at Tanah Merah Country Club.

A collaboration with Laguna National Golf and Country Club, the HSBC Youth Golfers Programme started in 2006 to develop a new generation of golfing talent,  as part of HSBC’s global sponsorship strategy and long-term investment in golf.  This programme comprises weekly co-curricular activities (CCA), inter-school leagues as well as a Youth Golfers Excellence Programme.  To date, over 2000 students have benefited from the programme and there are 380 students attending weekly golf training sessions.

10 local schools are participation in the programme :  Anglo Chinese School, Changkat Changi Secondary School, Dunman High School, Hai Sing Catholic School, Maris Stella High School, St. Gabriel’s Secondary School, St. Hildas Secondary School, St. Patricks Secondary School, Tanjong Katong Secondary School and Victoria Junior College.
