The Iconic home of British Motorsport – Silverstone and Practice Day 1

Silverstone, 18 June 2010 – Today, we headed down to Silverstone to check out the Practice Round of the AirAsia British Grand Prix, taking around 1 1/2 hours by coach.   Weather was cloudy at Silverstone and initially I was comfortable walking around with my jacket.

Some facts and figures about Silverstone:

Silverstone was previously a wartime airfield.  MotoGP makes a return after a 24 year absence.  The last grand prix motorcycle event at Silverstone was held in 1986.   In January this year, Silverstone and Dorna Sports signed an agreement for the next five years to bring the British Grand Prix back to England.
