Singtel mobile customers will enjoy better indoor 4G LTE network coverage on the 900MHz spectrum band come end March 2016.
Using Ericsson’s technology to leverage of low band LTE frequency, or LTE-900, Singtel is the only operator in Singapore to offer tri-band LTE network using 900MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz bands. Singtel will be able to offer nationwide 3CC (Cell Carrier) Carrier Aggregation technology allowing the telco to provide one of the fastest peak mobile throughputs in Singapore with download speeds of over 300Mbps.
Compatible handset models include Apple iPhone 6S and 6S+, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6, Sony Xperia Z5, LG V10 and many others.
Singtel and Ericsson’s partnership for the commercial roll out of LTE-Advanced services in Singapore was awarded as global winner of 2015 Telecoms.com ‘Pushing the Mobile Limits’ category at an awards ceremony held in London, UK.
