Airbus and Singapore Airlines to Set Up Flight Training Centre

Airbus and Singapore Airlines will establish a flight training joint venture in Singapore called the Airbus Asia Training Centre (AATC), subject to regulatory approvals. The AATC is scheduled to open by end 2014.

The centre will initially operate from SIA Training Centre near Changi Airport before moving to Seletar Aerospace Park when the facility is completed.

Full flight simulators for Airbus A320, A330, A340, A350 and A380 aircraft types will be available in the centre.

Airbus owns 55% of AATC and SIA owns 45%. An initial S$80 million towards the AATC.

Other Airbus training centres are located in Beijing, Miami and Toulouse.
