Etihad Airways will be launching eight Fare Choices for Economy, Business and First class. Fair Choices is a new fare structure that lets you tailor your journey to your needs from 14 September 2015. These fares will vary by flexibility, baggage allowance, miles earned and optional inclusions including priority check-in, chauffeur service and upgrade eligibility. This means you decide on the fare class based on how flexible you need your schedule to be, the baggage allowance you require or the amount of miles you wish to earn.
Economy Class Fare Choices include Economy Breaking Deals, Economy Saver, Economy Value and Economy Freedom. Business Class Fare Choices will include Business Breaking Deals, Business Saver and Business Freedom. First Class will only offer Freedom fares.
Two features that are offered as part of Etihad Airways Fare Choices will be offered regardless of whichever partner you fly with: change and cancellation rules and earning of mileage accrual.
The changes to the baggage policy will reduce the price of excess baggage charges on most routes allowing for better alignment with Etihad Airways Partner airlines. This translates to reduction of up to 90% for the cost of additional 23kg baggage on some routes. If you pre-purchase additional baggage allowance directly with Etihad Airways up to 24 hours before travel, you can enjoy a further reduction of up to 30%.
If you purchased your flight tickets before 14 September, existing fare rules will apply.
