Norwegian Cruise Line has opened bookings for Norwegian Aura, the largest ship in its fleet and its most ambitious take yet on open-air cruising. Launching in May 2027, the ship will homeport in Miami from June, sailing seven-day Caribbean itineraries that include the Dominican Republic, US and British Virgin Islands, Mexico, Honduras, Belize, and Norwegian’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay.
At nearly 345 metres long and 168,000 gross tonnes, Norwegian Aura is about 10% larger than Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna. It is designed around space, flow and outdoor living, with bigger pool decks, more family-friendly zones, and an all-new multi-deck activity hub that shifts from high-energy daytime fun to a chilled-out nightlife vibe.

Why Norwegian Aura stands out
The headline feature is Ocean Heights, a massive open-air activities complex spanning decks 18 to 21. This is where NCL goes big on multi-generational fun, with five waterslides, including duelling racer slides and a dramatic drop slide, plus an 82-foot ropes course, rock climbing wall, mini golf and carnival-style games. There are even overhanging private cabanas perched above the adults-only Vibe Beach Club.
Speaking of space, Norwegian Aura will have the largest pool deck in the NCL fleet, over 20% bigger than earlier Prima Class ships, with more seating, extra hot tubs and expanded lounge areas. The Vibe Beach Club also grows by 15%, giving adults more room to switch off, cocktail in hand.
Better for families, better for adults too

The signature Ocean Boulevard promenade on deck eight has been extended, wrapping the ship with uninterrupted sea views, new hot tubs, a new bar and an expanded Infinity Beach. Kids and teens get their own dedicated zones, while younger children have a separate play area at the bow, keeping the ship family-friendly without turning it into chaos.
For those who want to cruise in style, The Haven by Norwegian has been significantly expanded. Norwegian Aura will carry 30% more Haven suites than previous Prima Class ships, with private elevators, a dedicated infinity pool, exclusive dining and 24-hour butler service.
Where it sails
Before crossing the Atlantic, Norwegian Aura will make her debut on a seven-day Mediterranean sailing from Trieste to Barcelona in May 2027. From June through October, she will operate Eastern Caribbean cruises from Miami, before switching to Western Caribbean routes in winter 2027/28.
Every Caribbean sailing will include either Harvest Caye in Belize or Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas, which will debut a new waterpark in 2026, ahead of Norwegian Aura’s arrival.
