What used to be the Best Western Premier Dua Sentral is now the Ramada Plaza Kuala Lumpur. Hotel owners do change their management company sometimes.
If you are thinking of a getaway from the crowded city, Ramada Plaza Kuala Lumpur offers you just that with all you need within one building.
There are 359 guest rooms and suites, an infinity pool and a separate children’s pool, a fitness centre, spa and four wine and dine venues.
It is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and is close enough to the KL Sentral where you can commute from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) via the Airport Ekspress train. If you are coming in by car, it takes around 50 minutes from KLIA or 40 minute from KLIA II. Complimentary shuttle service is offered from between KL Sentral and the Hotel at scheduled intervals between 8am and 5.30pm. The shuttle service also transports you between the hotel and Mid Valley, Bukit Bintang/KLCC.
This hotel has three room types. There are 115 Deluxe rooms measuring 34 square metres, 181 one bedroom suite measuring 54 square metres and 63 two-bedroom suites measuring 81 square metres.
Two Bedroom Suite
The 81 square metres two bedroom suite make great accommodation when travelling with family and friends. It can comfortably accommodate four adults. The master bedroom offers two queen sized beds and an attached bathroom that features a bathtub and separate shower room.
The wooden flooring is perfect if you are prone to dust allergies which are often caused by carpets. I prefer to stay in hotel rooms with wooden flooring.
The other bedroom is separated from the master bedroom by a living room and kitchenette. This room is smaller and the attached bathroom is also smaller and missing a bathtub. The two bedroom suite has three televisions: one in each bedroom and another in the living room.
Bring your own toiletries if you are particular. I wasn’t very impressed by what was supplied by the hotel given the Ramada Plaza is a higher category hotel of the Ramada chain of hotels.
Facilities
There is a fitness centre and Avana Spa so that you can work out and pamper yourself. The fitness centre is located just opposite the spa. There are five treatment rooms with private baths at Avana Spa. Open from 10am to 10pm daily, enjoy a variety of treatments here including body and facial treatments, massage therapies as well as hand and nail treatments.
The pool is located on level six. The infinity pool offers splendid city views while the kids can swim in the children’s pool nearby. The pools are located near Heaven on Six restaurant. Enjoy a tan during the day or the beautiful sunset views from here.
Wine and Dine at Ramada Plaza Kuala Lumpur
Heaven on 6 offers a variety of beverages including beer, single malt Scotch whiskies, cognacs and liquers as well as cocktails. Light meals are available here.
La Brasserie is located on lobby level and features international and local flavours. Enjoy a buffet spread or a la carte meal choices here anytime from 7am to 11pm.
Grill 582 is located on level two together with the Punch Bar. Grill 582’s steak and seafood pair well with the exclusive range of wines and champagne. Finish off dinner here before 10.30pm and continue with a tipple or two at Punch Bar.
My favourite destination at Ramada Plaza Dua Sentral, Kuala Lumpur would have to be Punch Bar. The decor here is relaxing and plush. The Cigar divan within the bar is perfect with a glass of cognac.
