Scoot & Tigerair Jointly Operate Singapore – Guangzhou Route

As part of the reshuffling flights between Singapore Airlines’ group of airlines over the past few months, Scoot and Tigerair will together serve the Guangzhou market more efficiently when Scoot launches daily services between Singapore and Guangzhou in China on 16 January 2016. Guangzhou will be Scoot’s sixth Chinese destination and second in the Pearl River Delta area after Hong Kong.

Scoot will operate its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft to the Chinese city replacing Tigerair’s existing Airbus A320 aircraft which has a smaller capacity. The two low cost carriers will operate twice daily services and manage the route jointly.

During Chinese New Year 2016, Tigerair will operate additional services.

Scoot’s TZ128 will depart Singapore at 1.25am and arrive in Guangzhou at 4.55am. The return flight TZ 127 departs Guangzhou at 05.55am and arrives in Singapore at 10am. Tigerair’s TR2986 departs Singapore at 6.05am and arrives in Guangzhou at 9.55am while the return flight from Guangzhou TR2987 departs at 10.45am and arrives in Singapore at 3pm.

Tigerair’s added flights for Chinese New Year next year will depart Singapore at 9.30pm on 8,9,12,13,14 February 2016 on flight TR2988 and arrive in Guangzhou the next day at 1.35am. Return flights from Guangzhou departs on 9, 10, 13, 14, 15 February 2016 at 2.20am and arrives in Singapore at 6.30am.

Both airlines are in discussions to finalise a similar arrangement for another route. This partnership is structured to benefit both airlines. Tigerair can also redeploy resources for expansion to new destinations.
