Scoot Ultimate Take-Off Challenge has crowned a winner this weekend. 53 year old Joanne Loke Wai Kuen outlasted 787 other competitors taking home S$10,000 cash, a pair of ScootBiz tickets and earned the once-in-a-lifetime chance to bring Scoot’s first Boeing 787 Dreamliner on its delivery flight from Seattle.
The Ultimate Take-Off Challenge required participants to stretch out their arms, like a plane, for as long as possible. Joanne Loke had her arms outstretched for 64 minutes and 56 seconds.
The challenge was part of a four day travel fair organised by Scoot and trade, tourism and other partners held at Marina Square.
Eight Mediacorp Radio Deejays were present at the roadshow today creating a lot of buzz and hype at the event. They included Gold 90.5FM’s Tim Oh, Class 95’s Mike Kaesem, Jean Danker and Glenn Ong, 98.7FM’s Kimberly and Gerald, YES 933’s Jiahui, Weibin and Kun Hua, Capital 958’s Di Cong and 972’s Leelian and Wallace.
Scoot’s first 787 Dreamliner is named “Dream Start”. Since Scoot first signed its order for 20 Boeing 787 aircraft in October 2012, the airline has sent its pilots for training in Singapore in September this year with the first 787 going into production in Seattle USA in the same month. In October this year, Scoot’s Japan-built fuselage section was blessed at a traditional Shinto ceremony in Nagoya in Japan and the first aircraft rolling out in Seattle USA.
