TripAdvisor now allows you to download reviews, photos and city maps for offline access before you go for your trip. Now travellers can access important travel information without having to utilise the mobile data plan and incur expensive data roaming fees. The TripAdvisor smartphone app joins the likes of Google Maps and Google Translate to offer this convenience.

You have the option of adding or removing city maps based on where you are visiting. The new offline feature has rolled out to all countries and lanugages where the TripAdvisor app is currently available on iOS and Android smartphones. The city maps on the app are powered by Telenav’s Scout Maps and Navigation SDK which leverages on OpenStreetMap (OSM) map data.
