Turkish Airlines Flies To Havana and Caracas

Turkish Airlines has started flying to Havana and Caracas the airline’s 16th and 17th destinations in the Americas. The airline will fly three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from Istanbul to Havana then to Caracas and back to Istanbul on flight TK183.

The other 15 destinations in the Americas include Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Bogota, Panama, Toronto, Montreal, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Washington, Boston, San Francisco, Miami and Atlanta.

TK183 departs Istanbul at 2.10am and arrives in Havana at 8am. It then departs Havana at 10am and arrives in Caracas at 2pm. The flight departs Caracas at 2pm and lands in Istanbul at 10.15am the next day.

For the first six months of operation to Havana and Caracas, Turkish Airlines is offering Miles&Smiles members a 25% reduction in the miles needed to redeem either award tickets or upgrades.

As part of the airline’s “Bridging Youth” project, four university students from Turkey were given free tickets to Havana for a series of cultural activities. These students will tour the city with their Cuban hosts and share their photographs on Turkish Airlines’ social media accounts.

If you are flying from Singapore to Havana, you can also take KLM via Amsterdam, Air France via Paris, SWISS via Zurich. There are other flight options with at least two stops available.

From the 13th of this month, the Star Alliance member airline also launched its direct services from Istanbul to Zanzibar in Africa. The addition of this flight has increased its African destinations to 50. The thrice weekly flights to Zanzibar will be operated three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays in both directions. TK567 departs Istanbul at 8.30pm and arrives in Zanzibar at 5.30am. The return flight departs Zanzibar at 6.25am and lands in Istanbul at 1.45pm.
