Gems of Northern Italy is an eight-day journey. It starts and ends in Venice. The River Countess is an intimate ship for only 130 passengers. From the ship’s sun deck, you can admire 360-degree views of Venice’s breath-taking scenery. The journey will take you to a historic wine estate in Valpolicella where you can enjoy wine pairings with a multi-course lunch. The ship will visit medieval Padua, once home to Galileo and Copernicus; ‘bountiful’ Bologna; and UNESCO-designated Ferrara. Besides walking tours, you will get to have a hands-on pasta-making experience in Bologna. In Chioggia, learn how local fisherman harvest mussels or simply visit the local market and enjoy a fresh seafood lunch.
