SWISS’s new flagship Boeing 777-300ER will enter scheduled service on its long-haul network next month. It took delivery of the new aircraft on 29 January 2016. The aircraft with registration HB-JNA landed at 9.14am at Zurich Airport the morning following its delivery flight.

It will offer wireless internet connectivity in all three cabin classes via a broadband connection so customers on board can surf or send emails on their laptop, tablet or smartphone.

Three Data Packages

SWISS is offering three data packages for different customer needs.

  • 20MB SWISS Connect Data package – Priced at CHF 9, you can check your emails or visit a few websites
  • 50MB SWISS Connect Data package – Priced at CHF 19, you can surf your social networks or use the internet to work
  • 120MB SWISS Connect Data Package – Priced at CHF39, you can make almost full use of the internet’s scope and possibilities except for streaming.

First Class customers will be provided with the 50 MB SWISS Connect data package for free.

Customers can also make phone calls and send SMS text messages and data via their roaming telephony for a trial one-year period. The prices of these services will be set by the corresponding contractual agreements between AeroMobile and the customer’s phone service provider.

Roaming phone services will only be available at service times during night flights. As soon as the cabin lights are turned off, the feature may no longer be used.

The new Boeing 777-300ER offers 340 seats with eight in First Class, 62 in Business Class and 270 in Economy Class. The cabin interior now sports a new design offering top comfort and visual appeal in all three classes.

The new SWISS Boeing 777-300ERs will be gradually deployed from the start of the 2016 summer schedules, primarily on services to Hong Kong, Bangkok, Los Angeles, San Francisco, São Paulo and Tel Aviv.

SWISS also officially opened its new First Class, Senator and Business Class lounges in Zurich Airport’s Terminal E. The new lounges will extend over more than 3,300 square metres and are located close to its long-haul departure gates. The new lounges feature different zones for guests. Open areas allow guests to sit and simply enjoy the stay while working areas with secluded workplaces offer an environment for you to get some work done. Rest zones are equipped with specially developed seating.

Front cooking areas are available int he new lounges. Here chefs will prepare selected fresh meals in front of the guest. Senator lounge offers over 120 different whiskies at its exclusive Whisky Bar. The SWISS First Lounge features its own version of a five-star à la carte restaurant so that guests can select the meal of their choice from an extensive menu at any time of the day. A tasty fondue or raclette on the terrace in winter months are offered in the First Class Lounge offering spectacular vistas.
