Lost Poems Photo Contest by ibis Singapore Novena

9 May 2012, Singapore – As part of the 1st year anniversary celebrations of ibis Singapore Novena,  the hotel is having a photo contest ‘Lost Poems’.  This photo contest is also held in conjunction with ibis Singapore Novena’s participation in Ciudades Paralelas (Parallel Cities) which is held by Singapore Arts Fest.

Parallel Cities – Hotel Maids

Parallel Cities gives you the chance to be a participant, an observer, a provocateur or an intruder, to engage in another perspective of these spaces as they transform into experiential theatre platforms.   Entitled Hotel Maids, find out who these people are who go into your room when you’re not there.  This installation of biographies let you discover portraits of the cleaning staff – films, original voice recordings and photographs that shed light on the ‘invisible’ beings who clean up after others.

Hotel Maids is available at ibis Singapore Novena on 18 – 20 May , 22 – 27 May & 29 May to 2 June 2012 from 2pm to 9.45pm.  Admission costs S$36.

Photo Competition

The Theme of the Photo Contest is Balestier District.

How to submit your photos:

1. Upload your photographs via Instagram or Flickr with a photo caption together with #ibisnovenaphotocontest on Instagram, or join Flickr group @ibisnovenaphotocontest and add #ibisnovenaphotocontest to be submitted.
2. You can upload up to 10 photos maximum to be considered for the contest.
3. Photos will be screened by ibis Singapore Novena and uploaded to a Photo Album on the ibis Singapore Fan Page at .

Terms & Conditions:

1. There is no age limit to enter this Photography Competition.
2. There is no entry fee.
3. All works must be original and unpublished. The participant must be the original author and the sole owner of all of his/her works
4. All photo entries are to be uploaded must be at least 612 x 612 pixels
5. By submitting your photograph to the ibis Singapore Novena Photography Contest, you agree to allow your work to be displayed on this website and in connection with the promotion of ibis Singapore Novena.
6. Prize for the winner of “Fan Favourite” category: 2 night stay at ibis Northpoint Hong Kong.  Prize for the winner of “Judges Favourite” category: 2 nights stay at ibis Styles Bali Benoa.

Important dates:

• Submission of photographs – Up to 14th May 2012
• Selection of top 10 photographs – 15th May 2012
• Exhibition of top 10 photographs – 18th May to 2nd June 2012
• Public voting (at ibis Singapore Novena) – 18th May to 1st June 2012.
• Announcement of winners for “Fan Favourite” and “Judges Favourite” – 2nd June 2012 at the culmination of the arts festival.
