Jetstar launches a brand new campaign Because You Can in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar and the Philippines featuring travellers in different selfie poses.
The low cost carrier hopes that travellers will re-embrace the freedom to customising their own travels. Because You Can celebrates the stereotypical tourist and encourages people to have more fun on their travels through the ultimate travel cliché – the SELFIE.
In Singapore, the campaign will be rolled out to out-of-home advertising, press advertisements, on-ground and social activation.
“Low-cost carrier advertising has always focused on destination and price, but travel should be more than that. It is about the experience, the rush of excitement you feel when you click ‘Book’ and the ‘I-can’t-believe-I’m-here’ moments when you finally reach the destination after weeks of planning,” says Ms Chantal van Wijnbergen, Regional Marketing Manager, SEA.
“Because You Can is the perfect platform for us to talk to our customers about the little things Jetstar does to make their travels better. We’re excited to see the reaction to the first phase of the campaign and can’t wait for what’s coming next,” she adds.
The campaign was developed by creative agency The Secret Little Agency TSLA.
Over 20,000 selfie sticks will be given away over a two-week period to encourage Singaporeans to rediscover their inner tourist and exercise their creative selfie-taking skills.
From 27 August 2015, a series of 3D trick art designed by local artist Ben Quek will be installed in four travel hubs across Singapore at Bugis, Dhoby Ghaut and Serangoon MRT Stations and Bedok Bus Interchange for commuters to indulge in faux holiday snaps. The best selfies with creative captions posted on social media with the hashtag #JetstarBecauseYouCan will be rewarded daily with S$100 Jetstar vouchers.
