Star Alliance launched a social media campaign in China on its WeChat social media channel from 20 October to 7 December 2015 giving Chinese residents a chance to win one Star Alliance Gold memberships with ten participating Star Alliance Member airlines.

Star Alliance Gold Status from Aeroplan (Air Canada), PhoenixMiles (Air China), ANA Mileage Club (ANA), Asiana Club (Asiana Airlines), Infinity MileageLands (EVA Air), KrisFlyer (Singapore Airlines), MileagePlus (United), Miles & More (Austrian, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS), Miles&Smiles (Turkish Airlines), Royal Orchid Plus (THAI) will be awarded to the lucky recipient of the message.

A video in Mandarin for this campaign was released.


Using the slogan “you make the difference”, travellers’ “circle of friends” are encouraged to show their appreciation for the dedication to work and travel by sending thank you messages. The friend who sent the message of appreciation has the chance to win two Star Alliance Round-the-World tickets.

It launched a new Elite Gathering Community on WeChat in China last month bringing together global business travellers, providing a platform for them to share their insights and tips about travelling.

20 Star Alliance member airlines currently serve the Chinese markets. Around 270 daily international flights from China connects to 79 destinations in 42 countries.
