BYD Singapore is spreading festive cheer in a big and meaningful way. The brand, together with Vantage Automotive, BYD By 1826, Motor-East, Harmony Auto and BYD By JC, has partnered the North East Community Development Council (NE CDC) to support lower income families in Singapore’s North East District, just in time for the year end celebrations.
Charity In Motion: A Day Of Joy And Inclusion

The “Charity In Motion” event hosted 50 families supported under NE CDC’s School Transport Assistance & Relief Scheme, along with 30 volunteers from the BYD community. Families enjoyed a communal lunch and a shopping experience at Decathlon Singapore Lab, each receiving a S$120 gift card to pick items they truly needed, from sports gear to school essentials.
It was a chance for families to relax and connect with volunteers and community leaders including Mayor Baey Yam Keng and Senior Minister of State Dr Janil Puthucheary.
A S$1.2 Million Commitment To Social Mobility

The festive outing is part of BYD’s wider S$1.2 million donation to NE CDC. The contribution supports both existing and new programmes that uplift families through essential aid, learning opportunities and stronger family bonds.

Mr Baey Yam Keng, Mayor of North East District, say this partnership strengthens public, private and people collaboration to ensure no family is left behind, while enhancing opportunities for children and parents alike.
“We believe that mobility is not just about moving people, but about moving communities forward,” said Mr James Ng, Managing Director, BYD Singapore. “Charity in Motion is meaningful to us because it brings our BYD community together to give their time, care and support to families who need it most. We are honoured to work alongside NE CDC to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families who need it most.”
Singapore’s North East is home to many growing families. Initiatives like these help lighten the financial load while promoting access to activities that encourage confidence, learning and togetherness.
As BYD puts it, mobility is not only about vehicles and technology, but also about helping communities move forward together.
