Singapore-based artist Kelly Ser has collaborated with Moleskine to launch a limited-edition notebook celebrating the intersection of local craft, storytelling, and Singapore’s vibrant visual identity. With five different hand-painted illustrations on the notebook covers, Kelly Ser’s signature City in Nature aesthetic is inspired by Singapore’s urban development and biodiversity. Each notebook cover in the series represents Singapore’s environment of lush florals intertwined with silhouettes, native birds perched among tropical foliage, and cultural motifs in a spectrum of colourways.

The partnership reflects Moleskine’s broader global commitment to championing local creative voices and meaningful cultural storytelling. The Moleskine x Kelly Ser collection is available at Moleskine Paragon, Tanglin Mall and Ngee Ann City.

I first met Kelly Ser last April at an Ascott Soiree workshop, where we painted and silk-screen printed our own tote bags with her in person. The experience was part of Ascott Soirees, a curated series of cultural and lifestyle programmes hosted at Ascott properties in Singapore. These sessions connect guests with local artists, makers, musicians and performers through hands-on experiences such as leather crafting, tote bag painting, pleat bag making, basket weaving and chocolate tasting.

Kelly’s compositions feature native botanical elements like the Vanda Miss Joaquim, torch ginger flowers, and heliconias; iconic landmarks such as Peranakan shophouses, colonial bungalows, the Supertrees and Marina Bay Sands; alongside local wildlife such as the Oriental Pied Hornbill, otters and red junglefowl.
