Samsung Fashion Steps Out 2013 is back for the fourth year. Happening from 28 March 2013, Fashion Steps Out 2013 gets a new presenting sponsor this year – Samsung. Supporting the event since it was first launched four years ago, MasterCard returns as the fashion event’s official card with cardholder privileges and benefits.
Here is an overview of what to expect at this year’s Fashion Steps Out event.
FASHION PRINTS – A TRUNK SHOW
This year’s FSO will feature floral finery of Spring/Summer 2013 colours on 41 trees along Orchard Road created with the help of the Samsung Note 10.1 LTE by budding designers from Raffles Designer Institute. 10 designs were selected from 66 third year degree students from the Graphic Design and Fashion departments. ORCHARD FASHION RUNWAY
Close to 150 models will catwalk down 658m on Orchard Road which will be closed to traffic on 4 May. The Samsung GALAXY S4 LTE is expected to be launched together with the longest fashion runway in Singapore. The road will be closed from 8pm to 9.45pm and will feature brands such as Fausto Puglisi, Diane von Furstenberg, Coach, J.Press, Robinsons, Marks & Spencer, Maria Grachvogel and Adolfo Dominguez.

FASHION POPS
From 12 April to 21 April 2013, 11am to 9pm, visit Fashion Pops. Brands at Fashion Pops include TONI & GUY hair styling, Magnum, Accessorize, hansel and Harper’s BAZAAR celebrity cover exhibit. More information will be published at a later date.
CHAPTER 39: BONIA INSPIRES
Visit the first pop-up store on Orchard Road by BONIA from 10 to 19 May 2013. BONIA celebrates 39 years of local heritage with the pop-up store around the region beginning with Singapore followed by Kuala Lumpur as the next stop. The pop-up store will be located at Orchard Green, next to the Singapore Visitors Centre.
Measuring 4,305 square feet, the pop-up store features five different rooms depicting Art Deco, Pop Art, Surrealism, Cubism & Fauvism which are in line with BONIA’s Spring/Summer 2013 concept. Daily activities during the 10-day fashion and design bonanza include BONIA museum, evening runway shows with local artistes, quick style tips from a stylist, make overs and a pop-up cafe.
10 May – Launch Party with a tour of the store featuring BONIA bags and a new capsule collection and a fashion show of BONIA’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection with a preview of BONIA’s Italian-inspired Fall/Winter 2013/2014. Norwegian DJ, DJ Mera Jin will also be providing the music while Bobby Tonelli and Nikki Muller will host the evening.
19 May – Closing Party will feature DJs, designers and models as they send off the BONIA Pop-up Store to Kuala Lumpur.
