Circle Line’s Bayfront MRT Station Opens 14 January

12 January 2012, Singapore – The latest addition to Singapore’s MRT Circle Line network is Bayfront MRT station which will be opened on 14 January 2012.    Now you can arrive directly at Marina Bay Sands via five different entrances including Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Sands Expo and Convention Centre and The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.   The Bayfront and Marina Bay stations will also link commuters to developments such as the Marina Bay Financial Centre, Gardens by the Bay, The Promontory @ Marina Bay and the Marina Bay City Gallery.

On 13 January 2012, Land Transport Authority (LTA) invites the public to visit the Bayfront and Marina Bay Circle Line extension stations at their open house to get a preview of the completed stations.  From 6 to 930pm, there will be street buskers and stage performances of music genres ranging from jazz to pop.

First 3000 visitors to the Open House will also get a door gift.  You can take the train to the Marina Bay Station on the North South Line to get to the Open House.

The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands are giving some added incentives:

• Till 5 February 2012, if you are one of the first 88 shoppers of the day to spend a minimum of S$188 at The Shoppes, you’ll be rewarded with a limited edition ez-link card with a S$8 value, a TWG Mandarin Tea macaron pack and Marina Bay Sands red packets.    On the first and second day of the Lunar New Year (23 and 24 January 2012), the stored value of the limited edition ez-link card will be increased to an auspicious S$88.
• On 14 January 2012, Marina Bay Sands Tema Members will be stationed at the entrance of Exit D to welcome the first 500 commuters from 1pm who come through The Shoppes.  They will offer a good bag filled with a limited edition Marina Bay Sands cap, bottled water, a complimentary ticket to the Sands SkyPark and a SweetSpot voucher that lets you redeem a 1 for 1 brewed coffee or a complimentary latte/cappuccino with purchase of a box of 6 macarons.
• Vistors to The Shoppes on 14 January will get redeemable coupons and vouchers such as a S$10 Robinsons gift voucher, a S$50 cash voucher on all chemical services at Action Hair boutique, a S$10 cash voucher for buffet lunch or dinner at Carnivore Brazilian Churrascaria and a free instant photo booth experience.
• From 2 to 4pm on 14 January, Class 95 FM radio DJs will be at South Promenade of The Shoppes to interact with visitors and give away shopping vouchers and prizes worth over S$10,000.  Shoppers will also receive a S$20 voucher from The Shoppes with a minimum spend of S$100 at participating retailers located at the South Promenade.

• Jin Shan – Chinese New Year menu starts from S$128++ per person.
• Yú Cuisine – Purchase one takeaway yu sheng at S$48++ for small or S$88++ for large, and receive the second yu sheng at half the price from 18 January to 5 February 2012.

Celebrity Chef Restaurant Specials:

• db Bistro Moderne offers an assortment of family styled dishes inspired by the lunar new year festivities.  Enjoy the Seafood Platter of lobster, crab, shrimp and oysters, Roast Stuffed Suckling Pig (gratin dauphinois, wild mushrooms, garlic baby kailan, butternut squash, pork jus) and also Pineapple Tarts.  This special CNY menu created by Executive Chef Stephane Istel will only be available from 21 to 23 January 2012.
• For a month from 17 January 2012, Sky on 57 offers a five course lunch menu inspired by ingredients from the Kagoshima Prefecture for S$138++ per person.  The menu features dishes such as Organic Kagoshima Pumpkin Veloute and Kagoshima Wagyu Beef in Asian Pepper Sauce.

Marina Bay Fireworks

Enjoy the spectacular fireworks display by River Hong Bao 2012 between 730pm to 830pm on 21 January and 22 January 2012 just before midnight.   The vantage points at Marina Bay Sands are the Sands SkyPark and Event Plaza.   Marina Bay Sands light and water spectacular, Wonder Full, will be scheduled for 9pm. 10pm and 11pm on 21 January 2012.  The show resumes at 8pm and 930pm on 22 January 2012.
