Elton John Performs For One Night In Singapore

29 August 2011, Singapore – Sir Elton John and his band will be performing at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on 20 November 2011.  The last time Elton John and Band last performed at the Singapore Indoor Stadium was three years ago for the Rocket Man Tour where his one-night-only three-hour rock n’ roll extravaganza was completely sold out.

Elton will be joined by his long time band Davey Jonston, Nigel Olsson, Robert Birch, Jeffrey Bullard and John Mahon for his Greatest Hits Tour.    This time round, joining him will be his four backing singers Rose Stone (Sly and The Family Stone), Lisa Banks, Ta Ta Vega and Alice Witherspoon.   This will be the first time that 2CELLOS, the young YouTube Croation duo of Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser  will join the ensemble.

You can expect “Saturday Night’s Alright (for Fighting)”, “Rocketman”, “Levon” and “Your Song” to be performed in November.

Elton recently released his studio album “The Union” by Universal Music in October 2010 with his long-time musical idol and world-renowned pianist and songwriter, Leon Russel.  The duo and an array of guests get back to the nitty-gritty of what they love about rock n’ roll.

Universal Music will be relaunching Elton’s entire music catalogue on CD and DVD, as well as digital downloads via online music stores to mark over forty years of chart topping success.   Elton has won 7 Grammy Awards, sold over 250 million albums worldwide and continues to perform more than 100 shows a year, placing him amidst the top 10 best-selling artists in music history.  He also overseas an artist-management company and his AIDS foundation has raised more than US$220 million since 1992 and benefits numerous programmes in over 55 countries.  Sales of the song “Candle In The Wind” in 1997 raised over US$40 million for the charity, following the death of his dear friend Diana, Princess of Wales.

Elton will be performing in the coming months his brand new show “Million Dollar Piano” at The Colosseum, Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas where he will entertain audiences for sixteen nights only.

Tickets are on sale from today 29 August via SISTIC.  Ticket prices are S$498, S$348, S$248, S$188, S$148 and S$108 with a S$3 SISTIC booking fee.
