19 July 2012, Singapore – The first Red Bull Flugtag (pronounced as “floog-tug” which means “Fly Day” in German) in Singapore and South East Asia will be held at Siloso Beach Sentosa on 28 October 2012. The inaugural event here is expected to attract 50,ooo people to witness Red Bull Flugtag’s maiden flight.
The 50,000 crowd will be entertained by 40 teams of participants who will design, build and pilot human-powered flight crafts off a 6 metre high flight deck in the hopes of soaring into the sky or simply plunging into the waters below. Maybe Singapore will break the world record for the longest flight of 69.79m set on May 28, 2012 at the Red Bull Flugtag in Mainz, Germany by the team “Die Rückkehr der Teichfighter” (“The return of the pond fighter”).

|Applications must reach Red Bull Singapore no later than 15thAugust 201240 successful teams will be selected from all applications and will participate on the actual event day. These 40 teams will be judged based on creativity of craft, flight distance and showmanship.1st place: A trip to Red Bull’s Hangar-7 in Salzburg, Austria with the pilot winning an additional skydiving experience. 2nd place: Flights for the entire team to any destination in Europe. 3rd place: Flights to New Zealand for a Bungee Jump extravaganza!
