Sing Mens Chorus 20th Anniversary

Sing! Men’s Chorus Celebrates 20 Years of Community and Harmony

Sing! Men’s Chorus celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The all-male choir was established in 2005, allowing individuals interested in singing to join and introducing another form of choral music to the public. Over the years, the choir has grown to nearly 60 alumni members and an average of over twenty active members each season.

A special launch party will be held at 8pm on 30 May 2024 at Backstage Bar, showcasing the choir’s milestones and offering a live preview of its upcoming anniversary concert in September. Backstage Bar is at 80 Neil Road. Drinks at the bar will be 20% off all night long as a special thank you. SMC is an official Pink Fest partner.

SMC has provided a safe and welcoming space for men of all backgrounds to express themselves through song. The choir’s commitment to inclusivity and fellowship has fostered a strong sense of community, enriching the lives of its members. The choir remains committed to supporting and uplifting communities in need, through its special brand of entertainment, which includes working with organisations such as The People’s Association, The Greenhouse, and Pink Dot. SMC has also represented the Singapore voice at the biennial Hand in Hand Festival, an Asian-based choral festival organised by Proud Voices Asia. The choir is dedicated to supporting the local community in all its diversity and promises to continue its legacy of joyful song for years to come.

In a time where acceptance, belonging and a sense of family are principal themes toward cultivating positive mental wellness (especially among men), SMC finds itself even more relevant today than when it was first founded.

“SMC Celebrates 20 Years of Timeless Harmony” will spotlight iconic pieces from the choir’s rich history alongside exciting new additions. The concert will be held at 8pm on 14 September 2024 and 3pm on 15 September 2024 at Lee Foundation Theatre. Early bird tickets launch on 30 May 2024 online.
