ASICS SportStyle has recently introduced the GEL-LYTE III CM 1.96 sneaker, which stands out as the most environmentally friendly sneaker available today in terms of carbon emissions. This information is based on the latest industry data for CO2 emissions during the product’s life cycle as of September 11, 2023.
This innovative shoe incorporates a carbon-negative foam in its midsole and sockliner, featuring a bio-based polymer derived partly from sugarcane known as “SEPTON BIO-series” developed by Kuraray Co. Ltd. This special material provides a softer cushioning experience, ensuring long-lasting comfort for your feet. Furthermore, both the upper and sockliner mesh of the shoe are crafted from recycled materials and utilize solution-dyed polyester, contributing to a reduced environmental footprint.
In terms of design, the new minimalistic tape method not only offers excellent support for everyday activities but also minimizes material usage and waste, aligning with ASICS SportStyle’s commitment to sustainability.
The ASICS GEL-LYTE III CM 1.96 Sneaker will be available from 22 September in cream/glacier grey via ASICS SportStyle online and in select stores for US$150.
