PUMA Singapore unveiled no less than ten of Singapore’s top local and international footballing talents including the likes of Singapore Lions Lionel Lewis, Hassan Sunny, Isa Halim, Shi Jiayi and Etoile FC stars Frederic Mendy and Loic Leclercq who will be the brand’s sports performance and lifestyle ambassadors for 2010.  The ambassadors’ first assignment will be as members of the unique AMUP Tribe which seeks to extend the message that love equals the world game of football.

The ‘Love=Football’ campaign is PUMA’s way of celebrating the joy and passion the FIFA World Cup brings to the whole globe, and directly celebrating the twelve-year long relationship PUMA has with Africa.  “The World Cup is a celebration of sport and culture and PUMA is leading the celebrations in Singapore with a unique campaign that shows that when it comes to love, words are not really necessary,” said Sheryl Wong, General Manager of PUMA Sports Singapore.

PUMA is leading the charge with the unique ‘Love = Football’ wordless campaign, which taps on each person’s love for the world game this June, and what it means to individuals and Africa as a continent. PUMA the official sponsor of defending World Cup holders Italy, as well as African nations Cameroon and Algeria.

Bringing on board a mix of seasoned internationals, up and coming local talent and the ‘foreign legion’ of the S.League is part of this desire to support the passion of football. “This is the first time in a long time that PUMA Singapore has supported such a large group of elite sportsmen, and we are proud to back their love for football,” added Wong.

The ambassadors will be part of the unique AMUP tribe that is calling for members in a unique football celebration, the ‘Tribunal’ that does not need talent or even skill that will be held on 12th and 13th June 2010 at Ion Orchard. PUMA will be showcasing it’s never before seen Autumn Winter 2010 collection with the ambassadors making a special appearance. A special meet and greet session will be held at the tribunal grounds where members of the public can meet the ambassadors. In a call to action for the Tribunal, a tribal march pass involving all the PUMA ambassadors down Orchard Road will happen on 5th June to rally ‘tribe members’

Entries for the ‘Tribunal’ football competition are now open either online or at any PUMA retail outlet. The Tribunal seeks to attract footballers of all shapes and sizes in a fun and friendly gathering for the ‘love of football’

All ten ambassadors will wear exclusive PUMA sports performance and lifestyle apparel for this season, and there are long term plans to expand the stable of athletes under the PUMA banner in Singapore and in the region.
