The Line Shop at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore introduces five new flavours of the Singapore Danish Collection. Created by the Area Executive Pastry Chef Hervé Potus, these Danish confectioneries are filled with iconic Singapore dishes priced at a reasonable S$5.80 nett per piece.

The five flavours include Otah Otah, Chicken Curry, Chilli Crab, Braised Soya Sauce Pork and Chicken Satay. The softness of the fillings compliment the chewier Danish Pastry. The Chilli Crab is our favourite.

Croissant Galore at Antoinette

Croissants from Antoinette
Croissants from Antoinette

Antoinette has gotten salted egg yolk lovers all excited previously when it launched its Salted Egg Yolk croissant. Though we very much prefer the Chilli Crab (S$7.50) and Salted Caramel (S$6.00) croissant. It has just launched new flavours as part of its La Croissanterie Antoinette series with the Charcoal Kaya Croissant that contains a charcoal infused croissant housing a delightful lava of their house-made Queen’s Kaya. This will be available at S$6 from its Penhas outlet from 4 April at 11am every weekday and 10am every weekend. From 11 April onwards, it will also be available from its Mandarin Gallery outlet.

Two other new flavours including the Matcha (S$6) Croissant and Quatre Fromages (four cheeses) (S$6) Croissant made their debut on 4 April. The Matcha Croissant is filled with a custard made of the finest matcha powder, sourced from Nishio in the Aichi prefecture of Japan.  The Quatre Fromages croissant is a favourite amongst many. Thick white sauce of cheese, butter and milk give a more fluid texture to create a flowing lava of cheese.
