30,000th luckin Coffee outlet open in Shenzhen

Luckin Coffee opens its 30,000th store with a new flagship concept in Shenzhen

Luckin Coffee has opened its 30,000th store in Shenzhen, introducing its first “Origin Flagship” instead of a standard outlet. The launch marks a shift in strategy from rapid expansion to quality, sourcing, and sustainability.

The concept focuses on coffee origins. The store presents beans from regions including Yunnan, Ethiopia, and Indonesia, alongside programmes that connect farms, supply chains, and consumers. Rather than positioning itself purely as a fast beverage chain, Luckin is trying to build a coffee discovery experience centred on where the beans come from and how they are produced.

“We are committed to bringing the authentic taste of premium coffee from Indonesia, Brazil, Colombia, and other renowned origins across the globe straight to every one of our customers. This is more than just savouring a cup of coffee—it is the start of a genuine journey through global coffee flavours, which represents a pivotal elevation of Luckin’s corporate vision and mission.”

Li Hui, Chairman, Luckin Coffee

The two-storey, 420 sqm space operates more like a specialty café than a takeaway counter. Customers can order single-origin coffees, including SOE Americanos and lattes, prepared using semi-automatic equipment by trained baristas. The venue also hosts workshops and tasting sessions and served award-winning beans from the 2025 Yunnan Cup of Excellence during opening.

Sustainability forms part of the concept. The flagship meets LEED Platinum standards and China zero-carbon space certification requirements, reinforcing the brand’s quality positioning. After its 20,000th store in Beijing’s Zhongguancun achieved LEED Platinum status, this new flagship sets another benchmark for green retail in the coffee industry.

Luckin now operates in more than 300 Chinese cities and has expanded overseas, including Singapore and Malaysia. The 30,000-store milestone confirms scale. The Origin Flagship indicates its next objective, credibility as a coffee brand rather than only a convenience chain.
