Grill stations are definitely a hit during the buffet walk-a-about. The smoky flavour mixed in with the inviting aroma of fresh shrimps, marinated lamb chops and Pac Pacific’s sausages just gets me every single time. Order a platter and share it with dining compadres, because there’s still loads to savour.

Know me well, and you’d know I would make a bee line for the Oxtail dish. Chef Ken makes it even better by pairing it with generous pieces of conch, a shellfish with a firm texture and the mild flavour of the sea. Head over to the bread station and grab a roll, because it goes so well with the luscious, beefy gravy. If your meat cravings are still going on strong, there are also an entire Wagyu Rump and Roasted Whole Baby Lamb with Mezza Condiments waiting around the corner.

Right at the far end was a live station serving up one of the best dishes that night – the Wok-Fried Fish Noodles with Roasted Pork and Yellow Chives. While I brought my table no. over to the chef, I could not help but stand here and watch as he did his magic, surrounding me in the mouth-watering aroma of sio bak charring. Sure, the wok-hei was mild, but the winning combination of the chewy noodles and crunch of bean sprouts soaked in the savoury sauce had me licking the plate clean. My only gripe was how small the portion was. Don’t be shy and tell the chef you’d like to have a full portion, especially if you’re sharing.

The usual suspects of Edge’s buffet spread are still there of course, complimenting the spread of new dishes. This includes the desserts section as well. Diners can still head over for their ever-popular nama choco (rum flavour wins hands down), a la minute waffles, nyonya Kuehs and so much more. Those who love their king of fruits will be happy to know that their signature Durian Pengat will also be making an appearance. So, keep a look out and your nose high because they finish fast!

Talk about buffet dinners and Edge quickly comes to mind. They are synonymous with a ever-changing and wide variety matched with a quality you would find while dining in a restaurant – just ask Her World, The Peak and Expat Living.
