Shopping on Taobao has become more affordable and convenient for consumers in Singapore. From 7 August 2026, shoppers can enjoy free direct shipping on millions of eligible items with no minimum spend during a limited-time campaign. Orders will be delivered directly to customers’ doorsteps without additional shipping charges or hidden markups for items in SG Free Shipping Zone.
Before the campaign, shoppers had to spend at least S$35 to qualify for free shipping. Removing that requirement means customers can now purchase even a single eligible item—such as a fashion accessory, phone case, home décor piece or sporting product—without adding unnecessary products to their shopping carts simply to reach the previous threshold.
The initiative comes as more Singapore consumers turn to Taobao for products that may be difficult to find locally. These include niche fashion labels, artisan home furnishings, speciality sporting goods and electronics that have yet to reach Singapore stores. Fashion and home-and-living products have recently recorded strong growth in searches and purchases on the platform, according to Taobao Singapore.
Cora Cai, Country Head of Taobao Singapore, said removing the minimum-spend requirement had consistently been one of the most common requests from users. The campaign is intended to reduce a major barrier to cross-border shopping, allowing customers to buy what they need without having to factor shipping charges into every order.
Singapore shoppers can also redeem in-app discounts during the campaign period, subject to terms and conditions. The Taobao app provides access to products from Taobao and Tmall alongside direct logistics, local payment options, dedicated customer service in English and Chinese, and promotions tailored to local shopping needs.
