Mark Webber Aims To Get A Pilot’s License

Australian F1 Driver and Qantas Ambassador Mark Webber announces future plans to obtain a pilots license.

30 June 2011, Heathrow, London –  Qantas has announced its plans to help Mark Webber fulfill his dreams of becoming a pilot.  The Australian Formula One driver spent some time at Heathrow airport in the cockpit of a Qantas A380 with one of the airline’s training captains, after having express a genuine interest in flying.

Qantas will provide mentoring support with one of the airline’s training pilots and time in the Qantas flight simulators, and will recommend an approved pilot training organization in order for Mark to learn to fly – and are certain his driving skills and excellent hand/eye coordination will put him in good stead in learning to fly an aircraft.

I am envious Mark gets this opportunity. Just like Mark, flying has always been something that fascinates me.  I hope to one day be able to sit in a cockpit during flight or even visit a flight simulator.
