Singapore Grand Prix Qs!&As?

Hullo. Who writes these questions?!

He’s raced the Singapore circuit six times before, and Kimi Raikkonen is asked – only for the seventh time – “It’s a night race, how do you feel about it?”

Ferrari’s F1 driver did not even try to hide his jet-lagged enthusiasm, and gave the usual suspect answer.

Who knows, I’d stopped paying attention.

Oh wait, the presenter has saved his best (wow, release the Kraken!) for the last. In clear bell-like tones, “You are known as the Ice Man, what about this hot race?”

Boom-chneah! (Drum roll.)

Otherwise the Shell V-Power event with Lego was an original one, first the sponsors laid on a very decent buffet, there was a door gift, and a quartet of geeks got up close and personal with Kimi Raikkonen in a race to the finish. The four boys assembled Lego bits Ferraris. In under four minutes.

Coincidentally the team appearances of Kevin Magnussen and Jenson Button, for McLaren, and Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton, for Mercedes, in two separate locations, had a sense of deja vu.

It was as if the different peeps behind the events had hired the same whiz kid to formulate the Q&A session for these drivers.

Kevin and Jenson each asked the other questions such as who would you like to have dinner with…etc?

Nico and Lewis were each tasked with equally hard-hitting questions, by the presenter this time,

I don’t recall, maybe something about having lunch…

But for all its runaround, the events for the SGP F1 drivers fulfilled its vital object – to give time out to the fans – for selfies and autographs – the real supporters of the sport.

And SGP F1 is the sporting event of the year in our calendar.
