Bridge Alliance will be the world’s first mobile alliance to offer Consumer eSIM remote subscription management for the latest generation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices in Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. This announcement follows Bridge Alliance’s launch of the world’s first alliance-to-alliance eSIM solution for Industrial IoT such as automotive vehicles which was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2016.

Samsung recently announced the availability of its Gear S3 Frontier (LTE) priced at S$598 on 14 January 2017 here in Singapore. This device is iOS compatible together with the introduction of iOS compatibility across its Gear wearables including the Gear S3, Gear S2 and Gear Fit2.

The new Samsung Gear S3 frontier LTE has an embedded SIM (eSIM) from Gemalto. Gemalto’s eSIM and On-Demand Connectivity solution are compliant with GSMA specifications making remote provisioning possible for the Gear S3 Frontier (LTE). You can download your profiles with ease when your smartwatch connects to the cellular network. This means you can stay connected on the go, including making phone calls, receiving messages and accessing your apps without your phone.

Singtel, a founding member of Bridge Alliance, recently launched the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier 4G in the Singapore market, leveraging this newly acquired group eSIM capability.

To enable connectivity on their wearable, existing Singtel mobile postpaid customers can sign up for a Mobileshare plan at a promotional launch price of S$5.35 monthly. New customers can get connected with Singtel’s SIM Only starter pack which includes 5GB of data (3GB local mobile data and 2GB Singtel Premium WiFi) for just S$20. Once their wearable’s eSIM is activated with a QR code, they can enjoy Singapore’s fastest LTE mobile data speeds and 4G ClearVoice calls.

Bridge Alliance’s membership comprises mobile operators from 35 countries, including: Airtel (India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Airtel subsidiaries in Africa: Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Madagascar, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Seychelles, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia), AIS (Thailand), CSL (Hong Kong), CTM (Macau), Globe Telecom (Philippines), Maxis (Malaysia), MobiFone (Vietnam), Optus (Australia), Singtel (Singapore), SK Telecom (South Korea), STC (Saudi Arabia), SoftBank Corp.
