GV Plaza Singapura opened during a period when multiplex cinemas were rapidly expanding across Singapore. Over nearly three decades, it became one of Orchard Road’s most recognisable cinemas and a favourite destination for students, families, office workers and anime fans.

For many Singaporeans, it was where they watched their first blockbuster, queued overnight for movie premieres or attended special fan screenings. Its closure marks the end of another chapter in Singapore’s cinema history.
