Klook is gearing up for its next chapter of growth, and it has brought in two heavy hitters to help power that journey. Asia’s leading platform for travel and experiences has appointed Daniel Kao as Senior Vice President of Product & Technology and Jakii Chu as Senior Vice President of Growth Marketing.
If the names sound familiar, it is because both have built and scaled some of the biggest consumer and e-commerce platforms across the US and Asia. The kind of CVs that read like LinkedIn power profiles.
Klook Co-founder and CEO Ethan Lin says the pair’s arrival marks a strong momentum shift. With backgrounds spanning Silicon Valley, global e-commerce marketplaces, and major consumer brands, both leaders bring that rare mix of big-picture thinking and on-the-ground regional understanding.
“Their combined expertise in product scaling and data-driven growth marketing will create strong synergies as they collaborate to advance our marketing technology stack,” Lin shares.
Driving Product and Technology Excellence
Daniel Kao brings three decades of experience in building and scaling consumer internet platforms.
His past roles include Chief Technology Officer at VIP.com and Director of Site Operations and Quality Engineering at eBay.
At Klook, Daniel will focus on:
- Strengthening product and technology leadership
- Enhancing the end-to-end consumer experience
- Harnessing data and AI to create more efficient and delightful user journeys
Daniel says he sees “tremendous opportunity to blend global best practices, data, and AI to scale impact further,” pushing Klook’s product innovation at a sustainable pace.
Accelerating Performance and Data-Driven Growth Marketing
Jakii Chu brings 25 years of marketing experience, built across some of Silicon Valley’s biggest names. She previously served as:
- Chief Marketing Officer at Instacart
- SVP of eCommerce at Fanatics
- Chief Operating Officer of Shipping at eBay
Jakii will lead the transformation of growth marketing, building an AI-powered, integrated marketing stack to scale efficiently. Her focus: turning complex data into clear decision-making that pushes smarter, faster, more sustainable business growth.
Jakii says she enjoys “making sense of complexity through data” and sees Klook’s current marketing engine as already “incredibly comprehensive” for its size, ready to be pushed to its next high-growth phase.
For travellers and experience-seekers (basically all of us planning our next getaway), these appointments signal:
- More personalised travel recommendations
- Faster and smoother app and booking experiences
- Smarter use of data and AI to curate trips that feel tailored
Basically, less scrolling, less comparing, less “my friend said this attraction is overrated” uncertainty. And more time enjoying the trip.
