Malaysia Airlines has implemented the first phase of self-print baggage tag for domestic and international flights departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport. This was implemented from 18 August 2016.

Economy Class customers who have checked in online or on mobile can print their baggage tags at any of the 50 check-in kiosks located around the departure level of KLIA and self tag their bags before proceeding to the baggage drop counter. Instructions are on the tag as well as standees around to help you out. You can print up to two baggage tags per passenger on the kiosk. Economy Class passengers can check in up to two pieces of baggage weighing 30kg in total.

If you are travelling to Dhaka and Kathmandu, you will still need to check in at dedicated counters on row A17 and A18.

Implementing this will give you more control over your travel experience. It simplifies and reduces time to check in. In Quarter four this year, the airline will introduce self baggage drop with its ground services handler AeroDarat Sdn Bhd.

The oneworld airline follows the footsteps of other oneworld member airlines including Cathay Pacific recently and Qatar Airways.
