Online shops for your grooming products

23 May 2012, Singapore (By Kristen Juliet Soh)  – Shopping for clothes and accessories online is almost as common as shopping at the malls, thanks to the blossoming of blogshops in Singapore. International portals such as asos.com and net-a-porter.com also quickly won over the hearts of the time-starved and net-savvy.

Trailing behind but catching up swiftly are online stores for beauty products. These portals don’t just provide users with the convenience of shopping at home (with products delivered right to your doorstep!), but also allow you to purchase your favourite products at a steal, or gain access to brands that aren’t available in Singapore. Here are a few of my favourite ones:

Glowii.com

A newcomer to the online shopping world, Glowii looks set to offer users with a variety of brands that have strong cult followings all over the world. The site carries counter brands like Benefit and Chanel, as well as popular brands from overseas such as Soylites and Gulsha.

What I love: Shipping is free! Besides this, bringing in cult brands from overseas also mean that I can try out products that are popular in other parts of the world without needing to do the actual legwork!

Check this out: Bath & Bloom Lemongrass Mint Body Scrub. This body exfoliator from the Thai home spa brand was only available in Thailand and is recently available on Glowii for Singaporeans. The brand is very popular with locals and spa-lovers. Available at $37.

Naruko.sg/shop

Founded by Taiwanese beauty guru, Niuer, Naruko has gained great popularity among the Taiwanese. Besides its exclusive distribution at Watsons in Singapore, Naruko products are also available in its online store.

What I love: Shopping online gives you reward points that you can use to redeem free products or get products at a lower price at your next purchase. I also love that there is a lot of information that helps you decide on the products to try out.

Check this out: Naruko Tea Tree Oil Out Night Gelly. This is to be applied on before you sleep and helps to correct the water-oil balance of skin. Available at $22.90 (and gives you 22 reward points!)

Oliveshop.com.sg

Popular Italian brand, Olivella, arrived in Singapore and set up store on cyberspace. The site offers Olivella products ranging from skincare to haircare, and from bodycare to post-natal care.

What’s great: Each product comes with informative accompanying description, so while you can’t touch the products, you’d know what the product is all about, and whom it is suitable for. All Olivella products are also strictly organic, and free from paraben and SLS, so they promise to be suitable even for sensitive skin.

Check this out: Olivella Nourishment Cream. This can be used as either a day or a night cream. The non-greasy formula helps to moisturize as well as prevent signs of ageing from appearing.
