Atelier Swarovski returns this S/S’16 with Jean Paul Gaultier, Fredrikson Stallard and Feverish to celebrate the brand’s 120th anniversary with three luxurious collections. Bringing forth their talents in fashion, interior and jewellery design, they are changing how one admires and experience Swarovski’s finest.
Jean Paul Gaultier
No one can deny Jean-Paul Gaultier’s everlasting status as the world’s fashion icon. From Madonna’s infamous Cone Bras in 1990 to hosting Eurotrash, he has been challenging how the world viewed fashion and their eccentric designers.
This S/S’16, the bad boy of the fashion brings some of his edgy street and punk attitude to his first ever Swarovski collaboration.
Titled Jean Paul Gaultier Reverse, it showcases his unique, multi-faceted Kaputt crystal in “perfect imperfection”. The pieces have two asymmetric sides; one in a 24ct gold finish burnished with Sandblast plating to create a gorgeous chocolate gold; and the other a semi-translucent dark grey.
There are 12 gorgeously edgy pieces in the collection, including a statement Reverse Neck Piece, Ear Cuff and a chained Ring. Each exudes the theatricality and originality one had long known to associate with the mind of Jean Paul Gaultier. No doubt, he will be bringing in a new crowd of admirers for Atelier Swarovski.
Fredrickson Stallard
London-based interior designers, Patrik Fredrikson and Ian Stallard makes their return to the brand two years after their Space Flower collection in A/W’13. Similarly showcasing the imperfect beauty of the multi-faceted crystal cut, it could not be more different.
Simple yet engaging, glamorous yet wearable. The 11-piece Fredrikson Stallard Armory collection is a bold, architecture homage to contemporary elegance. Necklaces, cuffs, rings and earrings feature metal webs growing around the translucent, rock-like stone, portraying the idea of protecting something precious – like an armour.
The Jean Paul Gaultier Reverse and Fredrikson Stallard Armory collection will be available in selected Swarovski stores and independent retailers worldwide from March 2016.
Feverish (by Il Jung Lee)
Worn by big names including Rita Ora, Sammi Cheng to Xiao S, Korean jewelry brand Feverish has garnered an enthusiastic following in the region. Designer behind the brand, Il Jung Lee, is famous for her elaborate concepts, bringing expression and vitality to animal-inspired accessories. She follows up her 2013 collaboration for Runway Rocks Shanghai with a Asia Pacific-exclusive 13-piece Feverish Butterfly collection this S/S’16.
This joyful celebration of the delicate butterfly is displayed most gloriously in the Butterfly Neck Piece. In a colourful palette of crystal hues, each butterfly is angled naturally, giving the impression that they are “resting” on the wearer’s chest. It gives off the feeling of fantasy, just like in a fairy tale.
The Feverish Butterfly collection will be available exclusively in selected Swarovski stores in the Asia Pacific region from March 2016.
