Shanghai Tang introduces the second generation of its sunglasses inspired by the romance of 1960’s Hong Kong

Shanghai Tang’s modern vision of Chinese chic is brought to life once again with their new shades collection. Presented as a continuation, this second generation of its sunglasses takes inspiration from the sepia-coloured romance of 1960’s Hong Kong.

Retro Round

Shanghai Tang Retro Shades Singapore Price
Unisex Retro Round Sunglasses, in top to bottom (from left); Clear Frame Aqua Mirror, Tortoise Frame Silver Mirror, Black Frame Gold Mirror and Black Frame Ink Blue Mirror at S$530 each

The refined design of the new round-framed shades is a true classic of the brand. It gets a more modernised look with an elegant metallic brow-line to give a striking blend of boldness and nostalgia. The Clear Frame is my favourite. It brings a more futuristic feel to the Retro Round without making me look out of place against the harbour with Andy Lau’s Shang Hai Tan playing in the background.

New Colours for 20th Anniversary Collection

The 20th Anniversary Collection sees two new colours; Dark Tortoise Shell Mirror (top) and Black Mirror (Bottom) at S$530 each

This is a continuation of its 20th anniversary collection released last year. It boasts the same unique and strong eyebrow shape and mirror lenses inspired by classic Chinese round frames – with a modern, edgy twist of course. Truly with the Summer 2015 season in mind, the colour combinations for these shades take on a more vibrant palette. The continued choice of tortoiseshell also gives it an undeniable air of luxury perfect for this momentous occasion.

Sunglasses featured here will be available starting from 22 June 2015 at S$530 each, online and its boutiques.
