Tourism Malaysia Brings Local Flavours to Singapore

In celebration of the fourth Visit Malaysia Year this year, Tourism Malaysia has brought the flavours of Malaysia to Singapore.

This weekend, visitors to NATAS Travel 2014 at Singapore Expo were treated to Penang rojak at Tourism Malaysia’s booth. Prepared by Malaysian Chef Teh Eng Oon who has 16 years of working experience at the kitchen of Cititel Penang.

Sarawak’s kek lapis were also available for tasting at NATAS Travel 2014.

Tourism Malaysia has also collaborated with People’s Association to offer cooking courses on 5 and 6 April.

Chef Ismail who has appeared on Malaysia and Singapore TV hosting cooking shows such as Aroma, Sri Murni and Kung Ray on RTM1 amongst many others is also the owner of popular Restoran Rehung Chef Ismail in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.

He will be teaching Kerabu Magna – a mango salad and Nasi Ilam on 5 April. On 6 April, you get to learn to prepare Pais Iran Tilapia – grilled fish in Banana leaf and Daging Baker Air Askam – grilled beef in tamarind sauce.

Held at Woodlands Galaxy Community Club, there is a fee of S$20 for PA members and S$25 for non members.
