Sony ICD TX50 Digital Voice Recorder

8 May 2012, Singapore – In my line of word, a digital voice recorder always comes in handy.  It helps reduce the troubles of scribbling down notes during a press conference or interview.    So when I got the Sony ICD -TX50 digital recorder, it fit nicely in my front shirt pocket without it causing the pocket to sag.

It is only 6.4mm thick and weighs 50gm and comes in a glossy finish.  The built-in lithium-ion batter lets you record for 24-hours and allows for a quick 3 minute recharge to give you another additional one-hour recording time.   There is a selection of scene modes for various recording scenarios such as Shirt Pocket, Meeting, Voice Notes and Interview.  You have the option to customize your scene mode as well.

The 4GB ICD-TX50’s  embedded high quality digital microphones can record in linear PCM or MP3 format.   You can add on a microSD card.  The ICD-TX50 retails at S$199 and is available at Sony stores and Sony-authorised retailers.
