ANA and Vietnam Airlines will launch a codeshare and frequent flyer partnership at the beginning of their 2016 winter schedules from 30 October 2016. The codeshare partnership covers 10 international routes linking Japan and Vietnam in the initial phase of the partnership. It will link 25 principal domestic routes in both countries.
Members of ANA Mileage Club and Vietnam Airlines’ Lotusmiles can earn and redeem miles when flying in codeshare flights operated by both airlines.
ANA Holdings has acquired an 8.8% stake in Vietnam Airlines this year and this partnership is an extension of this acquisition. Vietnam Airlines cabin crew will join ANA flights to guide and interpret for customers and make in-flight announcements in Vietnamese. Some airport support activities such as check-in, lounge and baggage services for both airlines will be integrated at selected airports including Haneda Airport in Japan and Tan Son Nhat Airport in Vietnam.
