Hong Kong will mark the Year of the Horse with a month of parades, carnivals and theme park festivities across the city. The Hong Kong Tourism Board is presenting the celebrations under the theme “Everywhere A Wish”, positioning the destination as a regional hub for large scale seasonal events.
The headline event is the Cathay International Chinese New Year Night Parade on 17 February 2026. Starting at 8pm from the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza in Tsim Sha Tsui, the procession will travel along Canton Road, Haiphong Road and Nathan Road before ending at the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers. Pre parade performances begin from 6pm and include lion dances, street dance and magic shows.

The parade will feature 60 performing groups and floats from Hong Kong and overseas. Highlights include Cathay’s aircraft themed float marking its 80th anniversary, three horse figures from the Hong Kong Jockey Club symbolising prosperity, and character appearances from Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park. New participants include McDonald’s Hong Kong with a retro themed train float and the Hong Kong Brand Toy Association showcasing popular characters such as LABUBU and Molly.
After the opening night, selected floats will be displayed across the city from 18 February to 3 March 2026. Eight floats will appear at Kai Tak Sports Park, with additional showcases at Ocean Park, Lam Tsuen in Tai Po, Sha Tin Racecourse and Victoria Park.

Theme parks will also roll out seasonal programmes. Hong Kong Disneyland Resort runs its “Magical Year After Year” celebration from 30 January to 1 March 2026 with festive décor and character appearances, while Ocean Park Hong Kong hosts dragon and lion dances alongside Sanrio character meet and greets until late March.

Large scale attractions extend beyond the parks. Sun Life The Big Bounce World Tour takes place at WestK from 6 to 22 February 2026, and the AIA Carnival returns to Central Harbourfront with over 50 attractions including an 80 metre observation tower and circus performances, running until 1 March 2026.
