Malaysia Airlines will be launching three times weekly direct flights between Singapore Changi Airport and Kota Kinabalu. The 2 hours 25-minute flights are operated on a single-aisle Boeing 737-800 aircraft with Economy and Business seats every Monday, Thursday and Saturday from 27 August 2022.
MH 648 departs Singapore at 10 am and arrives in Kota Kinabalu at 12.25 pm on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. The return flight MH647 departs Kota Kinabalu early in the morning at 7 am, and lands in Singapore at 9.15 am.
The Business Class cabin is in a 2-2 configuration with 16 seats while the Economy Class cabin is in a 3-3 configuration with 150 seats.

Currently, AirAsia and Scoot operate nonstop direct flights on this route. AirAsia operates a daily flight AK1794 on an A320 aircraft that departs Singapore at 12.10 pm and lands in Kota Kinabalu at 2.45 pm. AK1793 departs Kota Kinabalu at 9.05 am and lands in Singapore at 11.30 am.
Scoot operates a thrice-weekly flight TR490 that departs Singapore at 8.25 am and lands in Kota Kinabalu at 10.50 am. From 5 September, Scoot will increase frequency to four times weekly. TR491 departs Kota Kinabalu at 11.40 am and lands in Singapore at 1.50pm.
Malaysia Airlines, Scoot and AirAsia currently operate out of Terminal 1.
