Raffles Medical Group Appoints Mr Allen Lew as Non-Executive and Independent Director

Raffles Medical Group has appointed 65-year-old Mr Allen Lew Yoong Keong as Non-Executive and Independent Director of the Group with immediate effect.

Mr Lew has been a long-time stalwart of Singtel and served in a range of senior management roles since joining the company in 1980. In April 2020, Mr Lew was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of Group Strategy and Business Development and Country Chief Officer Thailand for Singtel. Prior to this role, he was based in Australia where he was the Chief Executive Officer of Optus, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singtel. He spearheaded key strategic initiatives to establish Optus as the strongest consumer brand in Australia in 2019 (Brand Finance) including the launch of Optus Sport, Australia’s largest live sports streaming service today. Before his posting to Australia, Mr Lew was Country Chief Officer in Singapore and Chief Executive Officer, Group Digital Life at Singtel. He was also posted in 2000 to Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (AIS), Singtel’s regional associate where he was Chief Operating Officer. He is currently Chairman of the AIS Executive Committee.

Mr Lew holds a Bachelors of Electrical Engineering from the University of Western Australia under a Colombo Plan Scholarship, and a Master of Science (Management) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Appointment of new co-Deputy Managing Directors of Operations and Commercial

Earlier this month, the group appointed Dr Kenneth Wu and Ms Chong Ee Rong as co-Deputy Managing Directors of Operations and Commercial respectively.

Dr Wu spent the last 25 years with the Group having joined as a family physician and growing steadily through the organisation. His extensive experience covers the spectrum of the Raffles Medical primary care services in Singapore. This includes driving the growth and expansion of their General Physician network and capabilities. Most recently, he was the General Manager of Raffles Hospital where he oversaw the operational management of the hospital, including the specialist outpatient centres, inpatient wards and surgery services, facilities management and international marketing.

Ms Chong has 25 years of experience in Marketing and consulting having spent almost two decades at Ogilvy & Mather Group. She has a stellar track record as a business leader, client growth officer and reputation for building world-class teams.
