The Hey Co, the folks behind Lil Tiger, Wildfire Burgers, 8 Korean BBQ at Shaw Centre and Maki-San Admiralty, has launched an Italian pasta bar concept Ciao Chow. This new kid on the block offers Italian classics such as the Caesar Salad Supreme or Burrata for starters to not so commonly found pasta and a range of cocktails and spirits to imbibe at home. The pasta is freshly made daily. Available for islandwide deliveries on Oddle Eats until dining-in is allowed.

Ciao Chow Pasta

What surprised me, in a good and adventurous way, of course, was the ingredients used in their plates of pasta.

The one that stood out for me was the S$26 Caserecce No. 464 – PIG’S HEAD with veal jus. This is the first time I am having a pig’s head pasta and the bite from the chunks of meat and pigs ears paired beautifully well with the al dente short twists pasta. My parents loved the S$23 Spaghetti Ruvida No. 12 – Roasted mushroom with liver sauce. Full aromas of mushrooms and a very creamy sauce is something mushroom lovers will enjoy.

The S$32 Malfadine No. 49 features abruzzi-style lamb Rafi and pecorino Romano. One that is full of flavours and freshness with very faint lamb gaminess. The S$28 Conchiglie Rigate No. 226 is made with bone marrow and oxtail ragú while the S$25 Mezze Maniche No. 107 contains fennel, sausage and whipped rosemary ladro.

A range of cocktails, wines and Menabrea beers from Italy are also available for delivery. Bottled cocktails such as the Aperol Spritz, Gin Sonic, cosmopolitan, Paloma or Callista are all priced at S$18 while the packet cocktails such as the White Negroni, Vesper Martini, Manhattan and Smoky Negroni are priced at S$22. Orientalist spirits such as the Orientalist Origins Vodka and Orientalist Gundpowder Gin are part of some of these cocktail concoctions.

Looks like for launch, the Roasted Fig & Honey Ice Cream (S$28) is the only dessert available. This ice cream is made with black mission figs, raw honey, heavy cream and vanilla bean. Perfect way to end the meal.
