Tokyo Tops Lunar New Year Destination for Asian Travellers

Tokyo has overtaken Bangkok for the Lunar New Year travel season for Asian travellers, according to AGODA. Bangkok has been the top destination for Asian travellers during the lunar new year for the past two years. We stayed at the Hilton Tokyo in 2014.

Japan has taken three of the top spots as Kyoto makes an entry for the first time. Osaka moves from 9th place in 2016 to 3rd top destination for CNY 2018. City getaways

Then you may ask, where are all the Japanese travellers going? Bangkok, it has been for three consecutive years.

And if they travel within Japan, Tokyo is their top domestic destination. Other domestic destinations include Osaka and Okinawa. Singapore has lost its lustre amongst the Japanese.
