Mothers’ Day Special – Daniel C: A Model’s Love For His Mum

May 2012, Singapore – We spoke with 23 year old Elite Model Daniel Chong recently about how he was going to spend Mothers’ Day this year with his mum Betty.

A full time Management Studies student at Singapore Institute of Management, Daniel loves photography.  He shared that “beautiful photos never fail to capture my heart, even more so if I’m the one who took them”.  He also enjoys sports and plays beach volleyball and is currently learning to surf.    Besides modelling, Daniel also acts.

He started modelling because many people had encouraged him to do so with many advising him that he has the potential.  He received invitations to join a few agencies and that was when he decided to give it a shot to earn pocket money.

Daniel has appeared in the recent Subway television commercial,  Sentosa Wedding, Nike catalogue, M1 annual report as well as for Loreal Hairline Studio.

We asked Daniel to share with us his insights of being a model, and he responded:

“Sometimes, being a model may give you a feeling of being a superstar, where people are doing your make up, hair and making sure you look good. People speak to you with a nice and polite tone as well as take care of your food and drinks. On the flip side, modelling may be tiring to some, especially posing for long hours in a photo shoot or having many rehearsals in a day for a fashion show. But it is definitely a fun place to work, learn new stuff and make new friends.”

For Mothers’ Day,  Daniel and his family usually go to a nice oriental restaurant where they can enjoy quality time together.    Daniel feels that the best gift should not be something that can be bought and this year he intends to make a video of everyone at home to tell mum how much she means to them and to show their appreciation for all that she has done for them.

Daniel has an awesome elder sister who’s 28 years old and mum works as a Technician.
