Happy 15th Anniversary. Etihad Airways Celebrates 15 Years Serving Singapore

ETIHAD AIRWAYS celebrates its 15th anniversary serving the Abu Dhabi – Singapore route. The airline first commenced flights to Singapore’s Changi International Airport on 28 September 2007 flying three times weekly. From 1 February 2013, that increased to a daily schedule.

The airline has carried close to two million travellers via Abu Dhabi to and from Singapore. The most popular destinations include London, Paris and Milan.

Etihad Airways currently serves the route with a  B787-9 Dreamliner since 1 August 2015. We flew to Abu Dhabi in December 2014 for the impressive unveiling of the new aircraft as well as the A380 aircraft. The B787-9 Dreamliner comes with a three-class configuration featuring eight First Suites, 28 Business Studios and 199 Economy Smart Seats.

EY470 departs Abu Dhabi at 10.05 pm daily and arrives in Singapore at 9.40 am. The return flight EY473 departs Singapore at 7.50 pm and lands in Abu Dhabi at 11.15 pm.

Our Relationship with Etihad Airways

In 2013, I flew on Etihad Airways for the very first time. It was on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Paris via Abu Dhabi. AirAsia X had flown me up to Toulouse on a media familiarisation trip to collect their 10th Airbus A330-300 aircraft. Later that year, Etihad Airways flew me to Brisbane from Singapore to experience the business class service, which was then known as Pearl Business Class. The airline does not operate this route anymore.

In 2018, Dennis and I flew on Eithad Airways back to Singapore from Frankfurt after cruising the River Rhine with U by Uniworld. Check out our experience in the video above.

And I am a fan of Etihad Airways’ Amenity Kits. The 2013 La Prairie First Class Amenity Kits, 2014 amenity kit refresh, the 2015 Luxe City Guides Business Class Amenity kits, 2016 Christian Lacroix First Class Amenity Kits.
